Recently, India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) released the baseline cost of grid connected rooftop solar projects in fiscal year 2020-2021.

The cost includes the total cost of solar module, inverter, civil engineering, installation, commissioning, transportation and five-year comprehensive maintenance; which excludes net metering cost and spare battery cost. The base cost will apply to projects or proposed suppliers for which a letter of approval has been obtained after 31 July 2020.
