Recently, during the 17th Shenzhen International Battery Technology Exchange Conference/Exhibition (CIBF 2025), TÜV Rheinland signed a cooperation agreement on the 2000V photovoltaic cable certification project with Dongguan Slocable Solar Technology Co., Ltd. The project is based on TÜV Rheinland Standard 2 PfG 2954/10.23 and aims to promote the quality improvement of photovoltaic cable products and the high-quality development of the industry. Mr. Shi Bing, General Manager of Solar and Commercial Product Service Components Business of TÜV Rheinland Greater China, and Mr. Wan Neng, Manager of Slocable Solar, attended the signing ceremony.
As photovoltaic systems develop towards higher voltages, the requirements for cable insulation performance, weather resistance, and material stability have increased significantly. 2 PfG 2954/10.23 is an important technical specification launched by TÜV Rheinland for 2000V DC solar cables. It covers test requirements in multiple dimensions, including conductor structure, insulation and sheath material performance, environmental aging resistance, mechanical stress, and electrical performance, to ensure long-term reliable operation of cable products in high voltage and complex application scenarios.
This cooperation will focus on high-voltage application testing and certification of photovoltaic cables. With its years of technical accumulation and global service network in the photovoltaic industry, TÜV Rheinland will assist SIP Solar in continuously optimizing product performance and quality, and provide strong support for its expansion into the international market. The two parties will take this cooperation as an opportunity to jointly promote the improvement of the photovoltaic cable industry in terms of technical standards, safety compliance and sustainable development.
